The Election Commission (EC) says they are yet to be informed of the views of political parties regarding holding the parliamentary election amidst Covid-19.
EC Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said they have requested all political parties to send in their observations on the upcoming election.
“We have asked all political parties and candidates to send in their suggestions and recommendations on having the election under Covid-19 conditions, such as their views on campaigning, etc.,” Deshapriya said.
He said that initially, the Commission had informed individual political parties. “Then, at the meeting on 12 May, we told all alliance political parties as well to send in their proposals,” he said.
