Commenting on the Cabinet reshuffle which is to be expected soon, State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa expressed several views on the same while speaking to the media yesterday (3).
“I believe that the President will decide to hand over certain Ministries to new Ministers. It will be the existing Ministers who will switch Ministries,” he said.
Responding to a statement by a journalist who said that some have opined that having the same Ministers in different Ministers would be a useless exercise, Rajapaksa stated that the Ministries will not be given to the Opposition.
“We cannot give the Ministries to the Opposition. As of today, all 30 Ministers are senior Ministers who will do anything, no matter what Ministry they are given,” he said.
Rajapaksa also added that space must be given to these Ministers to do their jobs.
