Following a complaint made by a member of the Negombo Municipal Council, the police has arrested a shop owner who was in possession of the books that were distributed to low income families by the Negombo Municipal Council, stated Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
It was revealed after the raid that there were 298 books bearing the Negombo Municipal Council symbol which were available for sale.
The shop owner was arrested for misappropriation of government property and was produced in the Negombo Magistrate Court.
