Sirisena agrees to record statement with CID on Easter attacks

Former President Maithripala Sirisena has agreed to record a statement with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Easter Sunday attacks. Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris had told court that Sirisena had notified that he is willing to record a statement this week. The case against Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara and former Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage, today (06). According to Peiris former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is yet to give a date to record a statement. He added that statements will be recorded from former Governors Azath Salley and M. L. A. M. Hizbullah as well. Statements have already been recorded from former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and former Defense Minister Ruwan Wijewardena on the attacks.
