Six month relief period for loans from CBSL

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has announced a six-month relief period for business people and others affected by the COVID epidemic. The Central Bank has announced in its circular No. 10 issued 2020 that the new loan concession will be effective from October 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. Accordingly, businesses affected by the pandemic in a number of sectors including tourism, exports, apparel, IT, tea, spices, plantations, as well as those employed in those sectors, as well as small and medium scale entrepreneurs engaged in construction, agriculture and value added products. Self-employed persons who have lost income due to Kovid as well as foreign exchange earners can apply for this loan relief.
