SJB National List controversy: TPA  says no division in alliance

11 Aug 2020

By Skandha Gunasekara  Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) Leader Mano Ganesan said that there would be no division in the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) over the allocation of National List seats.  Taking to social media platform Twitter, Ganesan said that the SJB alliance was working to ensure there was no split pertaining to the National List distribution. “We will make sure that discussions between the leaders of SJB and partner parties on the subject of sharing the SJB National List nominations will not lead to any division within the SJB,” Ganesan tweeted.  His statement comes in the midst of a tussle among SJB members and its alliance party leaders over the allotment of their seven National List seats in Parliament.  It was earlier reported that Ganesan had issued an ultimatum to the SJB that his alliance would split from the alliance and sit independently in Parliament if the agreement signed when forming the alliance is violated.
