The main Parliamentary Opposition, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), has nominated two of its MPs to preside over the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) and the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA).
Accordingly, the names of MPs Eran Wickramaratne and Kabir Hashim have been proposed to the Speaker of Parliament for the chairmanship of COPE and COPA, respectively.
Previously, MP Prof. Charitha Herath served as the Chairperson of COPE while Prof. Tissa Vitharana served as the COPA Chairperson.
