Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) National Organizer MP Tissa Attanayake yesterday (02) stated that all elements of the Opposition will be brought under a broad alliance named the Samagi Jana Bala Sandanaya.
Attanayake elaborated that the purpose of this move would be to contest for the next Presidential election in 2025.
He made these statements while addressing the media yesterday, after calling on Anunayake of Chula Gandhi Parshawaya of Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya Most Ven. Radawadunne Assaji Thera at the Parami Dharma Ashramaya in Danowita.
Attanayake mentioned that the United National Party (UNP) can also join this alliance in order to field a common candidate for the next Presidential election.
“UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe’s entry into Parliament is not an issue for us. There will be a time in the country soon in which we all can work together,” he said.
Further, he highlighted that Wikremesinghe can make contributions to this broader alliance.
