Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) member Vijitha Herath accused the members of Samagi Jana Balawegaya of only reacting against the ‘sugar scam’ of the present government without showing the same concern to the Central Bank bond scam.
He said the present SJB members allegedly aided the bond scam that happened during the UNF Government’s tenure.
“The very same people who aided the bond scam are doing rituals against the alleged sugar scam. They do not have a right to accuse the present government if they did not do their part in protecting the country against robberies,” he stated at a JVP meeting yesterday.
The MP said this in response to several SJB MPs including Nalin Bandara, Gayantha Karunarathna and Dilip Wedaarachchi conducting rituals condemning the sugar scam at the Seenigama Devala yesterday.
