During a visit to Sinopharm's Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd. (CNBG) yesterday (23), Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China Dr. Palitha Kohona reiterated the advantage of establishing a COVID-19 vaccine refilling plant in Sri Lanka.
According to a statement from the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing, he emphasized the local market opportunities and wider market access in the region. The Sinopharm management is said to have responded positively.
The Ambassador had also expressed his gratitude to the company for supplying 23 million doses of vaccines to Sri Lanka on commercial terms.
Earlier this month, the Ambassador visited the facility and handed over a letter from President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to the Chairman of the company, Liu Jingzhen.
