SL hands over sacred monument to temple in Ayodhya, India

A symbolic sacred monument from Sri Lanka, of a carved stone that forms part of Hindu mythology, was handed over to India’s Sri Ram Mandhir Chief Priest Shthendradas by High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda yesterday (28) in Ayodhya, India. Ram Mandir is a Hindu temple being built in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, at the site of Ram Janmabhoomi, the hypothesised birthplace of Rama, a principal deity of Hinduism. On the request of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this relic was collected by Nuwara Eliya Seetha Amman Temple Trustee MP V. Radhakrishnan, Mayurapathi Amman Temple Trustee S. Sundaralingam, and businessman E. Muthukrishnan, in the presence of High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka Shri Gopal Baglay, at a function held at Mayurapathi Amman Temple Hall on 18 March 2021.
