Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila has stated that Sri Lanka has stocks of diesel and petrol which should last for 22 days and 18 days, respectively.
He also iterated that another shipment of petrol is also expected to arrive in Sri Lanka next week.
The Minister made these statements while participating in the ‘Derana Aruna’ program this morning (20).
Taking to social media about the matter, the Minister also expressed via a tweet that he would be the first to inform the nation if there was a fuel shortage.
“I have repeatedly stated that if there was a fuel shortage, I would have told the nation before anybody else. I have always been truthful to the people and informed in advance about the price hike. The first to announce about the foreign currency crisis.” he said.
