The Sri Lanka High Commission in Islamabad is in the process of verifying the details with the Pakistani authorities over the incident where a Sri Lankan migrant worker was tortured and burned to death today.
The Foreign Ministry in Sri Lanka has confirmed the same today (03).
Sri Lanka expects that the Pakistani authorities will take required action to investigate and ensure justice.
The incident took place this morning, when a mob tortured a Sri Lankan man to death before burning his body, while a heavy contingent of police has been sent to the area to bring the situation under control.
The incident took place on Wazirabad Road in Sialkot, where reportedly the workers of private factories attacked the Sri Lankan export manager of a factory and burnt his body after killing him.
