27 Jul 2021

State Minister of Finance, Capital Markets and State Enterprise Reforms Ajith Nivard Cabraal said that the repayment of an International Sovereign Bond (ISB) maturing today (27) was made. The payment is said to amount to USD 1 bn. The Minister of State pointed out that with the repayment of the ISB, most of the Government's foreign debt service obligations for 2021 will be repaid and it should be taken into consideration to allow the country's reserves to be replenished during the rest of the year. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is expected to receive nearly US $ 2,650 million in foreign exchange over the next three months.
