SL Women lose to Ireland in World T20 warm-ups

Sri Lanka warmed-up disappointingly for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 starting on Friday, 9 November in the West Indies as they lost their second pre tournament match against Ireland by eight wickets at Coolidge, Antigua on Wednesday, 7 November. After bowling out Sri Lanka for a low 85 in 18.2 overs, Ireland Women were home in 13.2 overs making 86 for the loss of only two wickets. Opener Clair Shillington made an unbeaten 50 runs for Ireland. Sri Lanka Women lost to New Zealand by six wickets in their first warm-up game played last Sunday, also at Coolidge. India Women will take on their Kiwi counterparts in the curtain raiser of the tournament on Friday at the Providence, Guyana. The hosts Windies are the defending champions of this sixth edition of the biannual ICC Women’s World T20.
