SLAF hands over Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units to treat Covid-19 patients

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) handed over two Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units today (04) to health authorities at the Air Force Headquarters, a media release from the SLAF stated. Accordingly, the handing over was done by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana.  Director of Health Services in the Central Province, Dr. Nihal Weerasuriya accepted the vital equipment on behalf of health authorities. The Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units were manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake together with the electrical design which was executed by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at Ratmalana.  According to Dr. Weerasuriya, these units will be deployed at Theldeniya Base Hospital and the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital where they will be used to treat patients with COVID-19. Today's event was attended by the Director Aeronautical Engineering, Director Health Services, Acting Director General Engineering, Commanding Officer of the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake, Technical Officers of the project and a few Other Rankers.
