The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided to appoint a committee to study the Constitution and submit the party’s proposals to the Government on the proposed constitutional amendments.
The SLFP politburo that met under the patronage of Party Leader MP Maithripala Sirisena had decided to appoint this committee, a senior SLFP source told The Morning.
Members of the committee are to be named shortly and the main task of the committee is to submit a report with recommendations to be submitted to the government on the proposed constitutional reforms.
