
Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Director General(DG) Chandani Werapitiya has submitted her resignation following a dispute with Tourism Head Kimarli Fernando.
Werapitiya told
The Sunday Morning that Fernando "did not permit her to work" and has submitted her resignation from the post of DG SLTDA.
Chandani Werapitiya, a senior banking professional, lecturer, global speaker and a panelist in international forums with 32+ years’ experience was appointed to the position by the new government last month.
The new regime appointed Business Professional Kimarli Fernando to head the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) and Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB).
