The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) last Saturday (11) arrested the youngest son of murdered businessman Shabbir Abbas Gulamhusein, on charges of his father’s alleged murder, which took place four years ago.
In June 2017, the Police reported that Shabbir Abbas Gulamhusein had passed away in his office in Colombo, but a month later, in August 2017, they had received a complaint that the death was under suspicious circumstances. The subsequent investigation revealed that the businessman had died from strangulation, according to the Police.
Accordingly, his youngest son was arrested in connection with this incident and produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court last Sunday (12), where it was ordered he be remanded until 23 September.
