South Africa tour shifted to Sri Lanka?

10 Dec 2020

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is exploring the possibility of having the South Africa versus Sri Lanka two-match Test series, scheduled in South Africa later this month, in Sri Lanka. The series, now scheduled to take place in South Africa from 26 December, came under a cloud after England suddenly cancelled their tour of South Africa mid way and returned home, due to fear of spread of Covid-19, earlier this week. SLC said on Wednesday (9) that having the series in Sri Lanka is an option under consideration. “We are exploring every possibility to go ahead with the series either there or here. But we haven’t decided as yet. We are only engaging in discussions with the (Cricket South Africa – CSA) board and we might meet up tomorrow (Thursday) to make the final call,” SLC chief executive Ashley de Silva told the Morning Sports.
