South Asia’s tallest tower declared open

The Colombo Lotus Tower, South Asia’s tallest tower was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena today. The Lotus Tower, initiated in 2012, is considered to be the tallest communication tower in South Asia and measures up to 356 meters in height. The tower was constructed with a cost $104.3 million, funded by EXIM Bank of the People’s Republic of China. The tower will be used for communication, observation and other leisure facilities.
