Speaker Karu Jayasuriya tabled in parliament a short while ago the much talked about Central Bank Forensic Audit following continuous requests by opposition parliamentarians for the Speaker to release the report to the legislators.
The Speaker said that he has decided to table the Forensic Audit after considering the Standing Orders and the relevant legislation.
The Speaker said at the outset of the parliamentary sessions today that he has decided to make a statement on the Forensic Audit reports given the continuous request by the legislators and decided after considering the rights of parliament as well as the laws that govern the legislature.
