Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya today urged the government to appoint only those capable to diplomatic positions.
Jayasuriya statement comes after the government recalled all Ambassadors and High Commissioners recently.
The speaker taking to his twitter account today said it is important to appoint truly capable and eminent professionals to these positions.
"The first impression of a country is created by its Ambassadors and High Commissioners..I am sure there are a few very capable personalities among those who have now been recalled," The Speaker said.
