Special equipment for frontliners

By Agra Ranasinghe Health authorities decided yesterday (27) to provide special equipment to frontline health workers dealing with suspected Covid-19-positive patients, The Morning learnt. Health Ministry Secretary Bhadrani Jayawardena told The Morning that the Health Ministry decided that frontline workers will be given safety equipment to use while dealing with the patients. “As the number of patients entering government hospitals may rise in the near future, the frontline workers may be at high risk of being infected with the coronavirus. Therefore, today (27) we decided to give these workers special safety equipment while they deal with Covid-19-suspected patients, Covid-19-positive patients, and also while testing patients,” said Jayawardena.
