Due to the higher number of road traffic accidents that are reported every April, a special operation will be conducted from April 10th to 20th to curb accidents, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated today.
He stated, “ As there is an issue with respect to road safety, precautions should be taken to avoid these tragedies. Drivers, passengers and pedestrians have an equal responsibility to ensure road safety,”
He further urged all other stakeholders such as the RDA, Transport Ministry and provincial transport authorities to extend their support to ensure this operation is a success as they all have an equal responsibility to ensure road safety.
