President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed a Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry to implement the recommendations of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Political Victimization.
The Extraordinary Gazette which was issued on Friday said the CoI is empowered to conduct or cause the conduct of
necessary investigations and to submit the final report or interim reports within three months.
Supreme Court Judge Dhammika Priyantha Samarakoon (Chairman), Supreme Court Judge Khema Kumuduni Wickremasinghe and Court of Appeal Judge Rathnapriya Gurusinghe have been appointed as the members of the Commission.
