A special quarantine operation is being implemented in Colombo and the Western Province today as well, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said 26 persons were arrested yesterday for not wearing face masks and failing to maintain social distancing in public places.
“A total 2,970 persons have been arrested since October 30. We will continue to inspect governmental and non-governmental institutions to check whether they follow quarantine rules and regulations.
“Rapid antigen tests will be done on passengers travelling in long distance buses and those at fish and vegetable stalls and those who fail to wear face masks,” he said.
