Special surveillance from today to find those violate home quarantine

An operation to conduct special surveillance on the residents undergoing home quarantine would be launched from today, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said. He said the police have received information that several personnel undergoing home quarantine have left their premises without any permission in violation of quarantine regulations. “It is a punishable offence if someone undergoing home quarantine leaves their house without permission or an outsider enters a premises of quarantine. We will deploy police officers in civvies to identify those who violate these rules and take legal action against them,” he said. He said 116,000 persons have been directed to undergo home quarantine and 36,000 of them are in Gampaha District.
