Heavy rainfall occurring around the areas of the Rajanganaya and Angamuwa tanks have resulted in the opening of several spill gates.
Accordingly, four spill gates of the Rajanganaya Tank and two spill gates of Angamuwa Tank have been opened.
Area disaster management authorities have urged the residents to be mindful of the ongoing weather conditions.
The Rajanganaya Tank is currently releasing water at the rate of 2,400 cubic feet per second. In terms of the Angamuwa Tank, water levels have increased due to the recent showers.
