Sports Ministry appoints new Administrative Committee for SLC!

[caption id="attachment_127966" align="alignleft" width="300"] SLC's next AGM is fixed for 20 May[/caption] The Sports Ministry has reportedly appointed a five-member Cricket Administrative Committee on Friday (2) to look into the country's cricket administration until Sri Lanka Cricket's (SLC) next election, scheduled to be held on 20 May. The Administrative Committee is reportedly comprising Prof. Arjuna de Silva (Chairman), Ashley de Silva (Secretary), Sujeewa Mudalige, Uchitha Wickremesinghe, and Amal Edirisooriya (present Sports Ministry Director General). But there will most likely be further hullaballoo, especially in the legal front, among interested and rival parties during over-six-week period ahead of the 20 May election. Following a protest by SLC affiliate Colts Cricket Club on the legality of the existing SLC Committee, the Sports Ministry sought Attorney General's (AG) opinion. Last week, the AG recommended the Sports Ministry to appoint a temporary administrative committee to run SLC until its election.
