Sri Lanka Army and CMC to conduct mobile vaccination drives from today

12 Aug 2021

A mobile vaccination effort carried out by the Sri Lanka Army will be in operation from today (12). Under the directives of Army Commander General Shavendra Silva, the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), the programme will prioritize vaccinating the elderly, sick, handicapped, and feeble. Ten vehicles with medical teams of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) and the Directorate of Preventive Medicine and Mental Health inside each vehicle would accordingly administer the vaccine by visiting doorsteps. Those who require this service need to register themselves with the NOCPCO through the hotline 1906 or telephone number 0112-860 002. Meanwhile, Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake said yesterday (11) that the Health Department of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has also organised a mobile vaccination drive for the same target population. This service is only available to those residing in Colombo 1-15. Registration for the same must take place online at http://mobilevaccination@colombo.mc.gov.lk
