Sri Lanka has come to a complete standstill: AKD

28 Jun 2022

With the decision to distribute fuel to only essential workers, Sri Lanka has come to a complete standstill and even a patient cannot be transported to the hospital from their homes, says Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka. He made this statement during a media brief today (28). "School children will not be able to go to school. People will not be able to pay their last respects at a funeral. People who harvest their own vegetables will not be able to transport the harvest to the market. Fishermen will not be able to go fishing. The entire country is at a massive loss. If there is no education, no trade, no food and no money, the country has come to an end and this only proves that this government has no solutions anymore," said Dissanayaka. He further urged the Government to step down without further delay, noting that with irresponsible decisions being made by the Government, the citizens of the nations will suffer more. "This destruction must stop immediately before we lost the future generations. We cannot afford a stunted generation and the Government must leave now," he concluded.
