The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has resumed sending migrant workers to Saudi Arabia for employment.
Saudi Arabia had suspended the recruitment of foreign workers for nearly 10 months due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus worldwide.
Sixty workers of a 180-member team have already left the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for Saudi Arabia last week, according to the SLBFE.
The employment agencies are taking steps to revive the foreign employment sector in line with the Government's promise to attract more Sri Lankan workers to the foreign employment sector and to resolve any issues that may arise with the intervention of the Government.
The rest of the 180-member team is scheduled to leave in the coming days.
