  • Pending availability of quarantine facilities

Dispelling recent reports, the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) said that the repatriation of Sri Lankans from Middle Eastern countries has not been halted.

SLFEB Media Spokesman R.K.K.M.P. Randeniya said the repatriation process is still ongoing.

“The repatriation process has not stopped. It is still ongoing, subject to the availability of quarantine facilities,” he said.

He further stated that reports of stopping the process were unsubstantiated.

“There has been no official notice from the Foreign Ministry about halting the repatriation process. What is being circulated is not an official statement.”
