30 Aug 2021

SriLankan Airlines has stated that it intends to resume flights from Colombo and Gan Island in the Maldives.  It is expected that the airline will announce an official timetable for flights between the two destinations soon. SriLankan commenced services to Gan Island on 1st December 2016 and served as the only airline to operate international flights to Gan International Airport, with four flights per week. However with the onset of the pandemic, these operations were suspended. Gan is the most populated island in Addu Atoll (also known as Seenu Atoll), the southernmost atoll in the Maldives.
