SriLankan brings 76 students stranded in Nepal

A SriLankan special flight UL193 carrying 76 students from Kathmandu, Nepal landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) a short-while ago. The 76 students will be directed to quarantine centres. 101 Sri Lankan students from Amritsar, India were repatriated yesterday. 113 Sri Lankan students were repatriated from Pakistan on Tuesday (21). The students were stranded in Lahore and Karachi amid the coronavirus outbreak. One more special flight UL 194 carrying Sri Lankan students from Coimbatore, India is to arrive today. Minister of Tourism and Aviation Prasanna Ranatunga on Monday (20) said 433 Sri Lankans stranded in India, Pakistan, and Nepal will be flown back to the country through special flights between 21-24 April following numerous requests made by Sri Lankan students stranded in India, Pakistan, and Nepal after airports were closed due to Covid-19.
