
A special SriLankan Airlines charter flight has left for Wuhan, China to airlift Sri Lankan students stranded in the city.
The UL-1422 flight is scheduled to reach Wuhan city at 11.37 p.m.
The Government of Sri Lanka was awaiting clearance from China to repatriation 33 Sri Lankan students and their family members in Wuhan city.
As the number of coronavirus infections continues to grow, millions of people have gone into lock-down in Wuhan – the centre of the outbreak – to try to stop the virus spreading.
The Health Ministry said following the arrival of the students, they will be directed to the Diyatalawa Army Camp for two weeks observation.
