State media institutions will be converted into profitable entities within the next two years with proper management put in place, Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella assured.
He told The Morning that at present, these institutions were incurring losses mainly due to the bad management practices followed during the previous Government.
“When it comes to ITN (Independent Television Network Ltd.), during the previous Government, there have been six chairmen.
At present, we are applying proper management practices and have short-term and long-term plans to make all these institutionsprofitable,” he stressed.
“The Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) was not there to earn profits, but it will also be developed into a profitable institution,” he added.
