State of Emergency extended

The State of Emergency in Sri Lanka has been extended by another month through an  Extraordinary Gazette notification with effect from today (22). The relevant proclamation by the President has been issued by the Presidential Secretariat and is signed by the Secretary to the President. The State of Emergency in the country was initially declared 21/04 after the terror attacks that took place on Easter Sunday. The emergency has since been extended by a month with effect from today.
