Steps have already been taken to identify the journalists who are at a high risk of contracting COVID-19 to vaccinate them on a priority basis, the Government Information Department today said.
The department stated that this followed the request made to the health authorities by Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella.
Accordingly, the department said that all news publications should collect information on all its employed journalists who linger in areas at high risk of COVID-19 and prepare a list of those who need to be vaccinated.
Accordingly, the Department requested that a relevant health official should sign the completed document before submitting it to the Department of Government Information for further action.
