The Organized Crime Unit of the Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a person in possession of a consignment of duty free cigarettes and bottles of liquor.
The raid was carried out at a house in the Dalupotha area in Negombo on a tip off given by the Air Force intelligence officers.
The STF said that a stock of cigarettes and liquor worth nearly Rs. 10 million was seized.
A 40 year old resident of Dalupotha has been arrested with the haul of illicit cigarettes and liquor.
Among the items seized were 35,000 different types of cigarettes and 450 bottles of liquor.
