The Police claimed that the law will be strictly enforced against persons who have been arrested for intentionally violating curfew regulations.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana has said that nearly 6,000 individuals who were arrested over curfew violations have been imposed with penalties so far.
Meanwhile, 60,425 persons have been placed under arrest for violating the curfew since 20 March and 16,924 vehicles have been seized.
Furthermore, court cases have been filed against 17,193 persons over violations of curfew regulations while 6,480 have been imposed with penalties, the Police Media Division stated.
