Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena said strict quarantine laws will be reimposed if the people failed to comply with health regulations to prevent spread of Covid-19.
He said that steps will be taken to issue health guidelines in the near future to celebrate the upcoming National New Year.
"People are going on shopping trips because of the upcoming festive season. Therefore, it's important to celebrate the holiday in a healthy way. We hope to issue necessary advices soon. Once again, if the people behave recklessly, the quarantine rules will have to be restored, " he said.
