Media personality Sudewa Hettiarachchi has been invited to replace Mohan Samaranayake as the Director General (DG) of the President’s Media Division, The Morning learnt.
When contacted by The Morning yesterday (12), Hettiarachchi confirmed that he has been invited to take up this position, but added that he is yet to provide a response.
The position would be made vacant when Samaranayake leaves it to become the new DG of the Department of Government Information on 19 April.
Hettiarachchi is one of the most well-known political talk show hosts on television at present, particularly for two stints at two private electronic media networks.
