Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP M. A. Sumanthiran is to chair the Law Reforms Committee that would handle the necessary reforms in the existing laws as well as constitutional amendments, it is learnt.
When inquired, Sumanthiran told The Morning that the proposed Committee will be part of the parliamentary process to further empower parliament and would look into law reforms including constitutional amendments.
Sumanthiran is also in the forefront in the campaign to repeal the controversial 20th Amendment to the Constitution as well as to abolish the Executive Presidency.
