Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa has recently turned down a request by Minister Wimal Weerawansa to call Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal and Treasury Secretary S.R. Attygalle before the Cabinet of Ministers to discuss the multiple economic crises faced by the country.
When Weerawansa had made the request, the Finance Minister had responded saying the two officials cannot be called before the Cabinet, but the ministers could meet with them separately if there was such a requirement.
