Senior member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, had expressed disgust at public officials and politicians who engage in corrupt and irregular activities.
He had said that both officials and politicians who rob public monies, or misappropriate public funds at a time when the people were facing many burdens, would be cursed.
The Minister made these observations during a public event in Weeraketiya.
Amaraweera had also claimed that while he ha represented Parliament since 1994, the conduct of parliamentarians had deteriorated through the years and that they had failed to show any improvement in their behaviour, despite parliamentary sessions being telecast live.Sunny Side Up: Cursing politicians
