The outspoken Bodhu Bala Sena (BBS) Secretary Ven. Galagaodaththe Gnanasara Thera is likely to enter Parliament through the National List of the Ape Jana Bala Party (Our People’s Power Party [OPPP]).
The OPPP politburo, on 14 October, decided to expel MP Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera from the party after the party’s disciplinary committee found the Thera guilty of four charges.
Ven. Rathana Thera entered Parliament through the OPPP National List slot.
“We are considering a few names to nominate for the MP seat, including BBS General Secretary Ven. Gnanasara Thera. However, all names are under discussion,” Party National Organiser Dr. Susantha Kodithuwakku had said.
