Governing Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Jayantha Ketagoda last week created a record in Sri Lanka’s parliamentary history.
Ketagoda holds the unique position of being an MP from a National List who resigned from the House and later returned to the same Parliament through a National List within a short period.
Ketagoda resigned from his National List slot a few months ago to make way for Basil Rajapaksa to enter the Ninth Parliament.
