State Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal had last week received a telephone call from a Buddhist monk in the Mihinthale area.
The monk, after telephoning Cabraal last Monday (16), had expressed his best wishes to Cabraal’s son, who, according to several social media reports, was to get married last Monday.
“I called to say that I have prayed, invoking blessings on your son who is getting married today,” the monk told the State Minister.
Hearing the monk’s wish, Cabraal had started to laugh, taking the monk by surprise. Upon inquiry, Cabraal had said that the monk was misled by media reports.
